Hydrofoil Pro Tour Australia Day 2
Bright sunshine 28oC with breeze building starts to look promising with Race 6 start 1300hrs.
North Easterly same as yesterday @ 6 knots
Light air flyers with big day from our youngest sailors Scott and Max with 2’s & 3’s.
Evident was the comraderie between those more experienced Kiters given advice to some struggling in the light air.
Race one completed in a dying breeze with AP flag sending many to the beach where difficult to get back on the track.
After delay of 30 minutes and only 3-4 knots the breeze came back to 6 knots then underway with another two races with 10 starters before heading to beach for a break.
Mid afternoon strengthened to 8 knots as lowered beach AP with all sailors on the start line the count down began. In the start sequence kites started to falter falling from the sky, before long the whole fleet was in the water – who turned off the wind?
AP over A – no more racing today – at least we tried.
All kiters safely back on the beach looking forward to more wind tomorrow.
